Large classrooms
The first and second floor of the Leinweber Building provide large lecture halls to accommodate the needs of the School of Information’s and the College of Engineering’s biggest classes. UMSI space includes three 100-seat lecture halls, two of which can be combined into a single room, in addition to a number of smaller lecture halls. College of Engineering space includes one 250-seat lecture hall and two 150-seat lecture halls. All classrooms are equipped with state-of-the art audio, recording, and projection systems.

Maker spaces and design studio
UMSI and CSE each have maker space labs on the first floor of the Leinweber Building. UMSI also has a design studio, room 1280, on the first floor of the building.
Undergraduate Advising for CSE
The CSE Undergraduate Advising Office (UAO) suite is located in 1270 Leinweber on the first floor of the building. Previously housed in the Beyster Building, the CSE UAO is greatly expanded in space to accommodate the advising needs of CSE’s 3000+ undergraduate students.

Office space, labs, and meeting spaces
The third floor of the Leinweber Building houses the administration for UMSI in the north wing of the building. UMSI has office, lab, and meeting spaces in the north wing of the fourth floor, and on the fifth floor. CSE has office, lab, and meeting spaces in the south wing of the fourth and fifth floors of the building. UMSI and CSE share a user study room that provides support for human subject experiments.
Green roof
Because the first and second floors of the building have a larger footprint than the upper floors, the roof of the second floor is a green roof which includes a variety of plantings. This roof provides a restful view for many occupants of the building’s upper floors while also positively impacting air quality, energy efficiency, and stormwater management.
